Getaway to Murder A Cozy Mystery in the Mountains (Book 3)
Leo Loams is a sensation. Gentle and loving, with a sharp eccentric air about him, he’s got an army of followers who swear by his book on knowing oneself through psychology. He's also got a multi-million dollar contract from a big four publisher, and a loyal group of devotees who owe him their success and their lives.
Victoria Armstrong believes less in psychology and more in hard work, and she’s glad to cater for Leo’s getaway at the historic Larch Luminary Hotel. Her business needs his business!
All is not what it seems, however, when Leo turns up dead! In the midst of the tragedy, a heavy snow storm hits the mountain. The road is impassable so no one can leave, and the RCMP can't make it in. With tensions mounting and the killer on the loose, Victoria must solve the mystery.
Could it be the bull-like gym owner with his long-burning flame for Leo's secretary? Or maybe it's the seductive real estate agent with his flaring temper and recent business losses. Maybe it's the dreamy secretary herself, with the anger that simmers under her air of helplessness?
But why kill Leo? One of his followers has taken fate into their hands, and as more bodies pile up, it's up to Victoria to figure out who!

Basically well-written, although there were minor errors of punctuation to be found consistently throughout the narrative, which should have been caught by careful editing. There were not enough errors, though, to make reading the novel a difficult experience. The characters had an unexpected depth, which surprised me; their motivations and behaviors were well-described. Despite the fact that I had fingered the murderer early on in the tale, I did enjoy the slow unraveling of the murder reveal, and the plot was twisty enough that the reason for the murder did not come out as I had expected. I found the actual method of murder to be a little beyond credibility, since (SPOILER ALERT! DON'T READ the rest of this sentence if you don't want to know how the first murder happened!) most commercial windows these days are double-paned and very sturdy, and would require something extremely hard and heavy to be broken; nor does Valium act that quickly. All in all, a pleasant read, but not a book for the deeply discerning mystery reader.Product details

COZY MYSTERY Getaway to Murder A Cozy Mystery in the Mountains Book 3 edition by Liz Turner Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
This is a great book to keep you on the end of your seat and trying to guess who the killer is. I highly recommend this book you will thoroughly enjoy reading this book to read.
This is a very well written book with lots of twists and turns with characters that you are never to sure if you should believe in them or are they telling the truth.
I really enjoyed reading the third book in this series. It was fun trying to guess along with Victoria who the murderers were. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants read cozy mysteries.
Just finished this book. Good read. It has everything.....romance mystery intrigue and a surprise ending. Really enjoyed this book. Everyone should read it!
This is a short, cozy little mystery--good for a little light entertainment. Series continues with Victoria catering at a hotel for a guru. Murder enters the picture and plans are changed. This is the third book in the series and, so far, all could use a good editor. There are numerous errors - misplaced commas, incorrect words, etc. These are okay mysteries if you aren't expecting anything serious.
I really enjoyed this book. A good, old fashioned mystery at a hotel in a blizzard, one of my favorite settings. It wasn't long and drawn out like some books can be, the characters were believable and it was a good enough read, that I look forward to reading more of Liz Turners books.
I get tired of the same old mysteries that call themselves 'cozy mysteries' that are about the same old thing, usually a woman and her quirky friends or relatives with so many quirky characters that it gets to be banal. Give me a good 'whodunit' and I'm happy.
Cozy Mystery Getaway to Murder A Cozy Mystery...is another story in the series with Victoria as the main character, her sister Karen who is watching Victoria's two children while Victoria is away on a catering job, and a cast of other characters. Victoria is uncomfortable with leaving her children to go on this catering job, as she has to be away from them for such a long time. Her children have no problem with her going to the catering job as they have plans of their own and their Aunt Karen will be there with them. Victoria once again is doing a catering job at the Larch Luminary Hotel, where she not only catered the food for an event but solved a murder case. This story has Victoria, after meeting all the people who would be attending this conference of Mr. Leo Loams, not only feeding them, but solving not one, but three murders. Leo Loams is like a self proclaimed guru who guides people (who are referred to as his family or tribe) from many walks of life and makes them more confident and successful as to the life they led before meeting Leo. Leo has used all of them to one degree or another to make himself a success and has made many people hate him. Would the hatred for Leo be enough for someone to kill him? Victoria after her meeting with Leo in his room, went to the kitchen to get him something to eat, and comes back to his room to find out he's dead. Victoria wonders how this could have happened in all of maybe fifteen minutes from the time she last saw him. Simon the manager at the hotel has called the RCMP to come find out who did this. The list of suspects is contained to the group of people who were invited by Leo to attend this weekend's retreat. One of them is his daughter, Deedee, Tess, who was a former patient and now claims to be Leo's secret wife, Matt his lawyer, Clay who had issues with Leo, Jim, who was orphaned and Leo took in at a young age, Cara a model, and Gray who along with Clay had an abusive father, who Leo took under his wing. All have reasonable motives to kill Leo. But, there is the murder of the maid, Ava, who until almost the very end of the book, Victoria couldn't figure out why one of them would kill, and then there was Leo's lawyer, Matt, also killed at the hotel. When Randolf, Victoria's gentleman friend, from the RCMP arrives, they put their information together and Victoria once again solves the mystery of who killed the three people. All of this takes place during a blizzard which is taking place on the outside. There is also a preview of a book from the Margie Lauderdale series, Murder at the Wine Tasting, which looks like another good read.
